WHAT EVERY KID SHOULD KNOW

 | HOW TO CALL HOME COLLECTWe had a case a while back where after the children were returned they
said that they had chances to call home. The reason they didn't call home was because they
didn't know how to do it. Your children should also know how to call (collect) a trusted
family friend or relative in case they are unable to reach you.

| HOW TO CALL YOU AT WORKYou kids should that if it's ever an emergency how to reach you at work.
What department to ask for, how to explain that it is an emergency.

| NON-STRANGER DANGERYour child is hearing about stranger danger and that is a good thing but
they also need to hear about NON-Stranger Danger. More children are abused, hurt, and
victimized by people they know than by strangers. It can be a coach, a teacher, the person
that lives next door, a online friend, or even a trusted family member.

| THE SWIMSUIT RULETeach your children that no one other than a parent or a physician should
touch the area of their body that would be covered by a swimsuit.

| IT'S OK TO SAY NOI know that any parent of a two or three year old might wonder why they would ever tell their child that it is ok to say no. >grin< Yes kids need to know that it is ok for them to say or even YELL no when someone is doing something that is wrong.

| YOU'LL ALWAYS WILL LOVE THEMYour kids must know that you'll always love them.
That nothing would be so bad that you would stop loving them. I know of a case where a 13
year ran away because they had a bad grade in school. With the way the streets are today
NOTHING is so bad that a child should ever feel that running away from home would be
better.
